Francisco José Andreo Gázquez (b. 1989) is a composer based in Spain. His works have been premiered in the UK (Birmingham Contemporary Music Group), Sweden (O/Modernt Festival), Germany (Forum Neue Musik Heidelberg), Spain (Plural Ensemble, NeoArs Sonora, Murcia Symphony Orchestra), New York (Yumi Suehiro) or Portugal (Remix Ensemble).

He is the recipient of the 2020 O/Modernt International Composition Award (organized by the Birmingham Contemporary Music Group and the O/Modernt Music Festival, Stockholm) with the work "Celan Pieces" (edited by Gehrmans Musikförlag), and the 2021 Francisco Guerrero Prize (Spanish National Institute for the Arts-Spanish Society of Authors) for "Tarantos". Selected by the Symphonic Orchestra of the Palau (Valencia) for their Young Composer's Programme, he premiered "Púlsar" with the Murcia Symphonic Orchestra in 2021.
"Frío de Límites", composed after the poetry of Antonio Gamoneda and José Ángel Valente, was finalist at the International Composition Competition Povoa de Varzim and included by Plural Ensemble (Spain) in their national tour 2016, being also programmed in Mixtur Festival 2017 (Barcelona). His chamber opera #RED, based on our new relations with social networks, was premiered in 2014. In 2018 he received an artistic grant by the Madrid Government, and in 2019 premiered "Stressed Out" with the Madrid Symphonic Wind Band in the Madrid Congress Palace.

He studied Flute, Composition and Musicology, holding a MA in Composition by the Madrid Royal Conservatory. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. under the direction of composer and national prize Ph.D. José María Sánchez-Verdú in the Madrid Polytechnic University. As a researcher, has been working also in the Cultural Management field, especially in relation with contemporary music, publishing in the indexed journal "AV Notas" and completing a master's degree in Cultural Management in the Open University of Catalonia.
Very interested in the education field, after getting a master's in music education by the University of Granada, he has participated in the "PIIISA" project working with teenagers thru music and conducting its young ensemble. Nowadays, he develops his composition and research activity alongside his teaching career in the Castilla -La Mancha Conservatory, heading its International Relations Department.

Francisco José Andreo Gázquez (n. 1989) es un compositor establecido en Murcia, desde donde desarrolla su actividad como compositor e investigador junto a la docencia en el Conservatorio Superior de Música de Castilla - La Mancha.

Estudió composición y musicología en el Cons. Superior de Música de Murcia, en la Mannheim Musikhochschule, y en el Real Conservatorio Superior de Música de Madrid. Cursa así mismo estudios de posgrado relacionados con la educación musical en la Universidad de Granada y con la gestión cultural en la Universitat Oberta de Catalunya. Actualmente es estudiante de doctorado en la Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, bajo la superivisón del Dr. José María Sánchez-Verdú.

Sus obras se han interpretado en Alemania (Forum Neue Musik, Heidelberg), España (Orquesta Ciudad de Salamanca, Banda Sinfónica Municipal de Música de Madrid,  Auditorio 400-Museo Nacional de Arte Reina Sofía), Portugal (Remix Ensemble). "Frío de Límites", obra premiada en el Concurso Internacional de Povoa de Varzim, fue integrada por Plural Ensemble en su gira nacional, interpretándose así mismo en el Festival Mixtur (Barcelona). Ha recibido una beca a la creación artística por la Comunidad de Madrid. Recientemente, "Celan Pieces" ha sido ganadora del Premio Internacional de Composición O/Modernt 2020 (Birmingham Contemporary Music Group, Instituto Goethe & Festival de Música O/Modernt de Estocolmo).
